Pop-Up  Food  &  Essentials  Drive

Bless you all for your continued generosity in supporting our partner, FISH Food Pantry. We will continue to host Pop Up Drives to meet their most immediate needs, so check back here for updated lists and dates! Thank you again for your love and care for our community.

When:
Our next Food & Essentials Drive for our ministry partner, FISH Food Pantry, will happen on Sunday, October 4, 5-7 pm (Note Special Day/Time - This will happen in conjunction with our Drive Thru Communion Time!  Thank you for Extending Our Table!)  FISH Food Pantry works to provide a safety net for those who are in need in St. Charles County. Their clients include individuals, families, and seniors who are living in poverty.

Where/How:
Items will be dropped off at Church of the Shepherd. To donate, place your donation in the trunk or back of pick up, drive up in front of the church and remain in your car.  A volunteer with gloves and a mask will take your donations out of your vehicle to avoid any contact.

Please note we are asking you to participate only IF you are already going to the store, placing an online order, or have items to share. We are not encouraging you to go out to make a special shopping trip!

To help protect our volunteers and FISH’s guests, please donate non-expired, un-opened products and use proper hand washing and sanitation techniques before you drop them off.

Here is a current list of most needed items:
  • Bar soap
  • BBQ sauce
  • Canned Green Beans
  • Canned Corn
  • Canned Tuna*
  • Cans of vegetable soup
  • Ketchup
  • Mac and cheese*
  • Mayo
  • Mustard
  • Oatmeal (boxes of individual serving packets)
  • Peanut butter (16oz size please)*
  • Pickles
  • Popcorn (microwaveable packets)*
  • Ramen Noodles
  • Saltine Crackers

*These select items will be used for our Backpack Buddies.

(No expired food, please!)

In addition to these most needed items, any items from our previous lists would still be appreciated.

Monetary Donations
If you can’t contribute to the drive with food or essential items but are able to help with a financial donation to assist in purchasing items necessary, you can do so by donating in a number of ways. Donations can be accepted via our church app or church website here (select Missions COVID-19 Response from the drop down menu), or mail in a check to Church of the Shepherd (with COVID-19 Response noted in the memo).
THANK YOU for your willingness and desire to help! Everyone has been impacted by the issues related to COVID-19.  It is hard to wrap our heads around what now has become our new normal.  We will continue in conversation with our ministry partners and as we do so we will update pieces on this page as things unfold.  In the meantime, lean into the comfort that comes from the God who loves us and is always with us.

Blessings and prayers to each of you,

Denise Spalding
