Meet Pastor Jon

Lead Pastor

Pastor Jon Spalding is the Lead Pastor at Church of the Shepherd in St. Charles, MO.

Jon answered God’s call to ministry early in life. He began preaching when he was just 16 and has served as a United Methodist Pastor for over 34 years. Throughout his ministry, he has been passionate about revitalizing the local church and connecting people to Jesus. He has worn many hats to accomplish this from directing camps, leading mission trips, and serving on numerous congregational development teams and projects, to coaching and mentoring new pastors and congregations, and serving as a lead pastor in small, medium, and large church congregations.

He loves getting to be part of the United Methodist Church and serving as a pastor. When he gets a chance, he loves to fish, and you can always find him cooking a meal or a treat for someone. Just ask him for his latest recipe! He’s sure to have one for you! Jon currently serves on the St. Charles Habitat Board and loves being a part of the transformation that happens when God’s people work together.

Jon began serving Church of the Shepherd in July of 2016. He is married to his partner and friend, Denise, and they are blessed with two grown daughters, Ashley and Kelsey, and a dog, Bentley.
